I built a free allowance tracker because I got sick of IOUs on the fridge

My daughter's five. She's started understanding that money buys things. Every trip to the shop is “can I get this?” and I'm trying to teach her that money isn't magic — you earn it, you save it, then you spend it.

Problem is, we kept doing the piggy bank thing. Coins everywhere. IOUs stuck to the fridge with a magnet. “Daddy you owe me $2 for tidying your shoes.” It was a mess.

I'm a developer, so naturally I over-engineered the solution. Built a little app where she can see her balance, tick off chores, and watch her savings grow towards whatever Lego set she's obsessed with this week. She gets $3 a week for making her bed, putting her shoes away, and not fighting bedtime too hard.

I figured other parents might have the same problem. So I polished it up, called it Pocket Ledger, and put it live.

It's free for one kid. Just a simple allowance tracker — chores, savings goals, balance. No bank card required (she's 5, she doesn't need plastic).
